Jesus Christ Makes All Things New...
As we leave 2008 behind and set out into 2009, we think about what a roller coaster ride this past year has been in many ways. With the economy on many people's minds, some would say they want to leave 2008 as far behind as possible. They look to 2009 to be something much better.
Despite the economic downturn, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church has been blessed in 2008. The Lord has supplied the needed funds to put a huge dent into paying off the Family Ministry Center. Even more importantly, the waters of Baptism have been "stirred" many times in 2008 (what a blessing!). We look for even greater things to happen in 2009!
The changing of years always brings to mind the phrase "out with the old and in with the new". It's a time of renewal, a time of starting over, of trying new things. This mindset can remind us of the new life we have in Jesus Christ!
2nd Corinthians 5:17
says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"
If we accept the free gift of Salvation thru Jesus Christ, the old baggage of sin and shame have passed away. Once we are wonderfully and miraculously saved through the Lord Jesus Christ we have a new and exciting life through Him! The old has gone and the new has come!
We are "new creations", we've taken off the "old Adam" and put on Jesus Christ our example to live by for the rest of our days (through the Holy Spirit)!
Have you received the free gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ? If not, let 2009 be the year you say "Yes" to Jesus Christ (for more information please read "The Plan"
