Posted on Mon, Aug 11, 2008When a sinner truely accepts Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, God does a mighty, eternal work!
Their salvation is evident - there is true "fruit" seen in his or her life. There is a noticable change; the old has passed away, a new "creature" has emerged. True repentance and true faith are "observable"!
There are certain Christian groups which believe this eternal gift can be taken away. But how? If it is the free gift of God, and we have no way to "earn it", then how can it be "unearned"? The belief that one can "loose their salvation" should be challenged through scripture.
If we can loose our salvation, what does it take to loose it? If this doctrine were true, then how can anyone have true peace thru the Lord Jesus if one is constantly questioning "where they stand" in eternity.
The Bible is clear that salvation is a free gift from God, through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
There is true peace in the salvation experience. Romans 8:38-39 says, For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Nothing can separate us from God once we are apart of His family and kingdom!
John 10:28-29 states "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand".
There is comfort in knowing that the ultimate gift, once accepted, can not be taken away...
So is this a license for sin? To go and do as we please? No, the true believer has a new heart and a new mind. They have done a "180" from their former selves. Unmistakable "fruit" will be seen in their lives.
If you are "in Christ" today, please thank Him for the "free gift' that He has given you, and live in the joy of your salvation, knowing that Eternal Security is yours, through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Thank your Lord!!!
