NC Baptist Disaster Relief responds to Baytown, Texas

Posted on Tue, Sep 16, 2008

"Baptist on Mission"

The following is taken from an e-mail sent by Richard Brunson with the Baptist Men's Disaster Relief Group, received on Tuesday, September 16th:

All three of our (NC Baptist) large feeding units will be set up in Baytown, Texas to assist with Hurricane Ike disaster relief efforts there. The combined capacity of all three feeding units is 70,000+ meals per day. Teams and equipment are traveling today and plan to start serving meals tomorrow (Tuesday). Lots of our other equipment and volunteers are also traveling to Baytown, Texas including tanker units, generator units, shower units, laundry units, etc. We anticipate sending recovery volunteers at a later time. We will update you when we are ready to send recovery volunteers and teams.

Please pray for the victims of Hurricane Ike and for the volunteer as they seek to serve them. Pray for safety for the volunteers as they travel and as they work.

For regular updates go to our website at

Please remember that the ministries of NC Baptist Men are funded through your gifts to the NC Missions Offering. If you would like to give specifically to the Hurricane Ike disaster relief efforts, please make your check payable to NC Baptist Men, PO Box 1107, Cary, NC 27512 and designate your check for Hurricane Ike disaster relief.

Let's pray that the Baptist Men can be as effective as possible in reaching as many people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ during their efforts following Hurricane Ike!
